Kindergarten
KINDERGARTEN:
October is an exciting month to be in Kindergarten! We continue to learn new things, like adding words to our writing and how to reread our favorite storybooks! We are also learning to count to 10 and write the numbers 0-10. We are busy little workers! This month we will be reading our favorite storybooks and continuing to talk about characters' feelings and retelling stories. We will also be working on reading sight words; I, a, the, my, look, I, look. Some of our children can already read more! We will also be working on writing sounds we hear to create words and stories in class. So if you're seeing things like "pmkn" for the word "pumpkin," be very excited because this means your child is beginning to understand that sounds and letters go together. We have learned a lot about our numbers so far and this month we will finish our numbers 0-10. By the end of this month, your child should be able to identify numbers, write them, and put them in numerical order. We have had a lot of practice counting bears, counters, etc. and writing our numbers using little rhymes to remind our brain of number formation! Teachers will be sending out information about parent-teacher conferences soon. Thank you for partnering with us to make your child's official first year of school a success!
