Understanding Standards-Based Reporting

 

Standards-Based Reporting focuses on the specific skills and knowledge that students are expected to learn at each grade level. Instead of traditional letter grades, SBR provides a clearer picture of your child’s progress in relation to established learning standards. This approach emphasizes mastery of concepts, helping students understand their strengths and areas for growth.

Key Features of Standards-Based Reporting:

1. **Clear Expectations**: Each subject will have defined standards that detail what students should know and be able to do by the end of the school year.

2. **Detailed Feedback**: Reports will include specific feedback on student performance, offering insights into individual skills and competencies rather than an overall grade.

3. **Growth Focus**: SBR encourages a growth mindset by highlighting progress over time, which helps students see their learning journey.
